Paul D. Litten believes that every student is unique and deserves the opportunity to succeed. He is an instructional leader committed to supporting teachers and students through collaborative practices, high expectations, and a focus on continuous growth. His work centers on strengthening the learning community and serving the Pelham community as a whole.
Mr. Litten serves as an assistant principal and brings more than a decade of experience in education. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Birmingham-Southern College and began his career at Simmons Middle School and North Jefferson Middle School. He later spent eleven years at Homewood Middle School as choir director, where he taught choir, show choir, general music, music technology, and computer science, while also coaching track and field. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for fine arts education and expanding meaningful opportunities for students.
Mr. Litten earned both his Master of Education in Instructional Leadership (2016) and his Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership (2018) from the University of West Alabama. He is married to his wife, Sara, and they have two children, ages 12 and 8. Mr. Litten is honored to have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the wonderful Pelham community and remains dedicated to instructional excellence, student achievement, and strong partnerships among schools, families, and the community.
